Once you’re on a keto diet, chicken is pretty much your best buddy. There are other forms of red meat, for instance, cured meats, sausages, bacon but they have added sugar to it and contain processed ingredients that can kick you out of ketosis.

Many keto experts suggest picking proteins that are pasture-raised and grass fed, this will reduce bacterial and hormonal intake. However, you have to be careful when you’re on a keto diet, too much of protein intake can lower your ketone levels which may lead to lower ketone levels in your blood and in return that can mess up your keto diet.

Therefore, it’s important that you have to keep a well-balanced diet. Adding fatty side dishes, veggies, and, sauces to keep you in perfect shape and can help you get rid of all that nasty fat.

So why do I think chicken is the best source of protein when you’re on a keto diet?

  1. Rich In Protein – It’s the perfect source of lean protein which contributes to muscle growth and development.
  2. Heart – Chicken gets rid of an amino acid called homocysteine, if the levels of this amino acid go unchecked it may cause cardiovascular diseases.
  3. Phosphorous – If you didn’t know, chicken is rich in phosphorous. A mineral that strengthens bone, teeth and is good for vital organs like kidney, liver and the central nervous system.
  4. Metabolism – Since chicken is a good source of protein, it boosts our metabolism. Furthermore, it is abundant in Vitamin B6 which keeps the blood vessels in a stable healthy state.
  5. It has Selenium – Chicken is abundant in selenium; a mineral that balances hormones, thyroid function and boosts the immune system
  6. Rich in Niacin – Niacin, another Vitamin of the B family that helps in preventing cancer and DNA repair.
  7. Chicken is a natural antidepressant – Research suggests that adding poultry to our regular diet can help increase serotonin levels, an amino acid that helps in controlling mood swings.
  8. Promotes the growth of healthy tissue – Chicken has Riboflavin, a vitamin that promotes the growth of healthy essential tissue like liver, above all, it also helps to repair damaged skin.
  9. Beneficial to the eyes – Chicken is rich in alpha, beta-carotene, and retinol all of which are for maintaining eyesight.
  10. Chicken prevents bone loss – Osteoporosis has been a problem for women and many men who are entering their senior years, research suggests that eating chicken helps fight bone loss.

I guess that’s an ample amount of why you should introduce chicken in your diet, which is why this blog post is all about chicken recipes, well healthy keto chicken recipes. I’ll write down the total calories at the end of each recipe so that’s it easy for you to navigate through the post, either way, each recipe curated over here will help you fight the battle against FAT and keep you in ketosis.

Anyway, jumping back to the creamy garlic parmesan mushroom chicken and bacon, OH Man was this flavorful and fulfilling. The chicken legs were crispy and juicy as anything, and the sauce? It almost felt like a dipping sauce, to be honest.

Keto Friendly Jalapeno Chicken

Sometimes we often crave for spicy food, I, on the other hand, can’t handle it spicy food but this recipe has a special place in my heart. It’s hot but savory hot.

Abeer from Cakewhiz describes this recipe as Asian/Mexican however, I believe that it’s Mexican because it uses Jalapeno, I mean come on its a Mexican thing. Coming back to this chicken recipe, OH was this hot, but the cream cheese and heavy cream dials down its spiciness and makes it full of flavor.

You’ll love this low carb chicken recipe once you find out how EASY and tasty it is. The low carb greek marinated chicken is protein packed, like 43 grams of protein-packed thanks to the greek yogurt that is being used in it.

Greek Yogurt has a ton of benefits, firstly it’s full of protein and secondly, it just makes every dish just so rich.

Anyway, this recipe is super simple, all you have to do is mix up some ingredients in a bowl and you’re halfway done. It’s fool-proof as well, trust me I’ve tried it and the end product is crispy, savory and plain nutritious.

If keto lovers love anything more than cream cheese and mayo are cashews. This low carb chicken dish is perfect for you if you’re a fan of cashews.

This recipe is highly customizable, you can add different veggies to this recipe, Annie from the garlic diaries recommends to add broccoli and onion. However, when I checked the nutritional facts of this recipe the Total Carbohydrates per serving were 28 grams which is significantly higher from the other low carb chicken recipes over here so you have to be extremely careful with this one.
To reduce the total carbs, don’t add brown sugar, you will be sacrificing some flavor but it’s still worth it.

Being that as it may, the flavor is just amazing, the nutty flavor of cashews combined with chicken and some green onions gives this recipe a whole new essence.
